New US$550 Million Allocation to Support Climate Action, Women and Agricultural SMEs Across the Caribbean and Ghana

Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, September 4, 2026: Republic Financial Holdings Limited (RFHL) has announced a significant
expansion of its sustainable finance commitments of an additional US$550 million under the RFHL Group Climate Finance Goal and SDG Financial Inclusion Target for SMEs (2026-2030).

The new allocation brings RFHL’s total sustainable finance commitment to US$750 million by 2030, reinforcing the Group’s dedication to advancing climate resilience, financial inclusion, entrepreneurship, food security and sustainable economic development across the Caribbean and Ghana.

The announcement follows Republic’s earlier commitment as a signatory to the Principles for Responsible Banking; and the Group’s successful achievement of surpassing RFHL’s original Climate Finance Goal of US$200 million, with approximately US$243 million in climate-related financing deployed as at June 2026.

The approved allocation will be directed towards three strategic priorities:
• Climate Finance: US$300 million, including a dedicated allocation of US$50 million for SMEs
• Women-Owned/Led SMEs: US$100 million
• Agriculture SMEs: US$150 million

The expanded commitment reflects RFHL’s recognition that sustainable development requires targeted investment in sectors that drive economic growth while strengthening resilience andimproving livelihoods.

The initiative is closely aligned with several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly:
• SDG 2: Zero Hunger
• SDG 5: Gender Equality
• SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
• SDG 13: Climate Action
• SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals

Driving Meaningful Impact
Nigel Baptiste, Group President and Chief Executive Officer, Republic Financial Holdings Limited, said:
“The future of banking will be defined not only by financial performance, but by the positive impact we create for people, businesses and the environment. At RFHL, we are committed to leading by example by directing capital towards opportunities that drive inclusion, sustainable growth and strengthen resilience.

Our expanded US$750 million commitment reflects a long-term vision for the prosperity of our region and the communities we serve. Through targeted support for climate action, women-owned/women-led businesses and agricultural enterprises across the value chain, we are helping to unlock economic potential while advancing sustainable development outcomes that will benefit generations to come.”

Also commenting on the announcement, Richard Sammy, Group Vice President, Republic Financial Holdings Limited, added:
“At RFHL, we believe sustainable finance is one of the most powerful tools available to create lasting economic, social and environmental impact. Surpassing our original Climate Finance Goal demonstrates what is possible when purpose is embedded within our business strategy. This new US$550 million commitment reflects our confidence that we can do even more to support businesses, entrepreneurs and communities as they navigate the opportunities and challenges of a rapidly changing world.”

Sammy added that the initiative underscores RFHL’s commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen and a catalyst for positive change throughout the markets it serves.

More than a Financing Target
Republic Financial Holdings Limited asserts, “This is more than a financing target. It is a commitment to empowering people, strengthening communities and supporting sustainable development at scale. As a regional financial institution with deep roots in our markets, we have both the opportunity and responsibility to help shape a future that is more resilient, inclusive and prosperous.”

Looking Ahead
The initiative represents a key pillar of RFHL’s broader Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy and reinforces the Group’s long-standing commitment to delivering sustainable value for customers, communities, shareholders and other stakeholders.
